In the mountains of Rabun County, Georgia, just off of Highway 44, sits a unique roadside attraction called Goats on the Roof.

“We’re a crazy, unique place,” explains owner Russ Phillips. “We have 12 goats wandering from rooftop to rooftop.”

A little bit of everything can be found here.

“We have a cafe where our meats come from a local butcher in town,” says Phillips. “We have homemade fudge and homemade ice cream. We have a unique gift store where you can get all sorts of gifts, crazy hillbilly gifts and then we do Amish furniture as well."

Russ’ dedication to his goats has developed into a reputation that now proceeds him.

"I'm kinda known locally as the pooper scooper....the goat guy.”

The goats have free roaming privileges on the rooftop. They also have a side yard where visitors can hand feed them and a barn to keep them out of inclement weather.

"We don't just want to be your average stop,” says Phillips. “We want to be out of the ordinary. We want people to scratch their heads when they come through and when they leave, thinking what was that? But we love just seeing the happiness."
